Just like I mentioned in Friday's post, this Halloween weekend was less about the beer kegs and multiple costume changes of yore and more about, well...watching Harry Potter with my friends and sharing a bottle of wine between the three of us. Times, they have a-changed. I stumbled upon this article recently about the things you appreciate in your late '20s and it could not be more accurate. Did I go to the market this weekend? Yup. Did I go for a lovely hike? Heeeeell yeah. Did I brunch it up with friends? YEAH. Was it the best weekend ever?! I mean...obviously. Another thing I really appreciate in my late '20s? I got so in the habit of wearing flats or comfy booties while in Europe that one of my main aims since being home has been to work my looks around my favourite brogues (a similar pair here) or other flats. Again, I'm pretty sure I'm getting really, really old. But comfort-first priorities or not, I love the added style challenge of working looks around boyish or casual footwear like these brogues. A little schoolgirl-esque look in all fall tones felt so right for a coffee date in Kitsilano this weekend - with the sun shining but a little bite in the air, it was the perfect balance temperature-wise and felt so fall-apropos.
