Though I'm not ashamed of being a bit of a magpie when it comes to holiday dressing usually (sequins!!! gold!!! jewel tones!!!), there's something I love about an understated LBD for festive parties instead, particularly when it comes with some built-in statement jewelry like this Vince Camuto beauty! Click through to read more tips on updating your classic LBD for this season!

While this dress fits the bill in many respects for a classic LBD (namely that it's black, plus it has a classic fit-and-flare silhouette), its faux leather paneling and inset gold jewelry really gives it an edge. Whether it's texture (think fringes, metallic detailing, etc), paneling, draping or a unique silhouette, the dress itself can be unique on its own, just like this Vince Camuto number.
But even if you go the totally classic route with your dress, adding a statement heel, a dramatic lip, a major piece of jewelry or a seriously unique clutch can make all the difference. The best part is that you can easily transition your dress from party to party with just a few different variations. Not that that knowledge is going to entirely keep me away from all my usual metallic, bright-toned or sequinned holiday pieces, but it's always nice to have a completely classic, no-fail option to rely on when you're running late for a party.
Speaking of parties, I don't know what it is but I feel totally wiped lately. Disclaimer, I have nothing to complain about or no real reason to be so tired - I just straight up feel exhausted all the time lately. Could be an illness or something, but it's entirely possible my body's just wiped from healing itself (still injured and unable to exercise or move around easily, ugh). Whatever the case may be, I'm seriously hoping I start to feel a bit more like myself and more energized with Christmas ahead and all of its festive commitments. Fingers crossed!
