Military Appreciation Month with #ChevySalutes

Compensation for this post was provided by Chevrolet via MSB New Media, All opinions expressed in this piece are my own.

Many of my family members have served or are serving in the military. Two of my mom’s younger brothers both served in the military. My youngest uncle served in the U.S. Navy for about 6 years and my other uncle served in the U.S. Army for 14 years before he was medically retired so I’m very well aware of the challenges that they faced along the way. I have another family member that I’m pretty close to who just recently retired from the military about a month ago. He served for 20 years in the U.S. Army. There is a huge respect for all of those who have served and are serving our country and my hats are off to them for the sacrifices they make for our freedom.

My husband is currently Active Duty and is serving in the U.S. Army and has been active for over 10 years now. He is making this a career and will continue on to do at least another 10 more years before he retires. After becoming a military wife almost 10 years ago it wasn’t until then when I saw the challenges and sacrifices that comes along with being in the military. That’s why I’m very appreciative for what he does for this country as well as the sacrifices he makes for our family. I’m so thankful for him and all he has done and I wouldn’t have it any other way. These soldiers face many challenges on a daily basis for our freedom and for that I will be forever grateful.
