Day 2: Why Practice Yoga?

You guys! I am so THRILLED to be seeing the pictures and hearing the stories about you trying something brave and getting on your mat for 21 Days Of Yoga! You all have seriously made my heart swell with happiness. Keep the pictures coming! Hashtag your Instagram pictures #SBD21DaysOfYoga and I will repost them. Let's start a community!
Now, if you missed yesterdays video practice, you can see it here. We, as a community, are committing to 21 days on our mats; living, moving, and breathing and worshiping Jesus. It is never too late to start. Jump on board, friends!
So, why practice yoga? Yoga is a mind, body, and spirit practice. We get on our mats, offer up our hearts to Jesus, our mental clarity may be a little sharper, we are more aware of how God has so intricately and holistically created us mind, body, and spirit. Before I started practicing Holy Yoga, there was a huge disconnect between my body, mind, and spirit. My body was simply something that I made submit to vigorous exercise. Through practicing Holy Yoga, I have learned to love my body by worshipping the One who made it! There are endless ways I could tell you about how yoga effects your body and mind. But the truth is, in order to really understand, you must show up on your mat and experience it.
If that wasn't already enough, yoga may be beneficial for decompressing your spine, increasing flexibility and strength, lubricating joints, draining your lymphatic system, improve cardiovascular health, ease minor depression, lowering blood pressure... and so much more*.
