NYFW: David Tlale Spring/Summer 2014

My second show of the day was a presentation by David Tlale from South Africa who was returning solo for the 3rd time at Lincoln center. I am sure by now you know/heard about all the DRAMA that went down between Tlale and the PR Guru, Kelly Cutrone of People's Revolution. Some of us knew about it on Thursday when our inbox got an alert email from Cutrone stating that she was cancelling the designer's presentation which was schedule to take place on Thursday morning at the Box. All I can say is I was a bit disappointed at People's Revoulution for treating the designer the way they did by airing out why they were cancelling the show. It wasn't nice a email .

But despite all crazyness, I am glad that the show went on Thurday morning as planned without People's Revolution though the turn out wasn't as great as in the past ..... thanks to Miss Cutrone. There are rumors that this whole drama was a puplicity stunt for Tlale which I doubt it considering the designer has a very reputable name in the industry. Why would he want to have such publicity?? I still don't believe it.

For Spring Summer 2014, Tlale's latest collection "The A-lister" did not disappoint. Sheer fabrics encrusted with clusters of beads, silk organza and chiffon, sequin, geometric prints and leather were all presented. There were a few looks that I loved from this collection. The sequin enctrusted long skirt was on top of my list. I can see myself wearing it with a simple white t-shirt. The sheer silk organza blouses were so perfect and eye catching. And then there were a few red carpet numbers, like the gown above which had a little bit of drama going on. I can see some of the pieces on the A-Listers during Award season
