The Best Kids Gift Package Ever- SO EASY

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Groupon Gift Shop for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

My little guy celebrated his sixth birthday last weekend! We were fortunate to spend the whole weekend with family and friends and have a blast. We had a family dinner, went swimming, and had a bowling party, but the highlight was the gift and activity we all got to do together! Groupon is my favorite place to find fun family activities to make everyone happy and get a great deal. Birthdays and Christmas are no different!
Its challenging with a brithday so close to Christmas when I know Evertt will receive lots of toys and fun things from Santa and our family. I love to find something unique that is an activity he can enjoy with others. I hopped onto Groupon (my new favorite spot for gift buying) hoping to find some inspiration and a fun birthday gift and I sure did. One of Everett's favorite places to go is Dinosaur Ridge. There are dinosaur footprints, bones, and fossils all over this mountainside in Morrison, Colorado. But he is six and I wanted to make opening the gift a fun expereince, a little more than tearing open the envelope to find the Groupon. I decided to use a ballon, flour, water, and white glue to make a paper mache "dinosaur egg." After it was dry, I cut a small slit and tucked the Groupon inside. Then glued up my slit and painted it to resemble an egg.

I paired it with a small Dinosaur excavation kit and he was just in complete wonder when we gave it to him. Totally perplexed as to what would be inside. He used a hammer and screwdriver to break in and reveal the gift.

Within 30 minutes we were all packed up and heading to Dinosaur Ridge to enjoy Everett's gift!

You can go and hike for free, but a membership gets you a spot on the guided tour bus and entry into the Dinosaur Museum. This was a great deal and I just know we will use it repeatedly over the next year. We had such a great time sitting in the footprints and feeling the dino bones!

All of the kids had SO much fun and the parents even learned a dinosaur fact or two.

If you are like me and loathe the crowded holiday shopping scene AND still love to find a great deal, head over to Groupon and check out ther local deals and hundreds of gift giving options for eveyone you are buying for this year.
