Review + Swatches: Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm - Provocateur & Coquette

Call me simple, but I had never heard the world Coquette before, so I did a quick Google search out of pure curiosity. Turns out it is a real word and means a woman who uses her sex appeal to exploit men, it's also a type of hummingbird as well, I prefer that meaning! If you haven't sussed out what I'm on about, there is a point to the rambling! One of the pretty lip products I'm reviewing for you today is called Coquette! The other is called Provocateur.
As always I've included a summary at the end :)

The Basics
Earlier this year Revlon spoiled us with two new lip additions to the ColorBurst Balm line. I have already talked about the Matte Balms here - link. So today is the turn of the Lacquer Balms! Both have the same style of packaging as the ColorBurst Balm Stains. These however have a much more metallic finish to the outside. To give you an overview if you're not familiar though - crayon style with a twist up function and secure lid. Each one has 2.7g of product and comes with a minty scent to it. There are 10 shades available and priced at £7.99 each - although currently on offer for £5.99 in Superdrug.

The Formula Much like you'd expect from something calling itself a balm, these are very balm like in texture! Smooth, non-waxy and non-greasy, very pleasant infact. They do have a minty scent to them which gives a very subtle tingly menthol effect to the lips - it's not uncomfortable at all for me. They apply smoothly with a very reasonable pigmentation, I wouldn't say opaque, but you can definitely see the colour clearly! The finish as you would expect is glossy, with some shades containing glitter (this can just about be felt on the lips). Unlike the original balm stains, these do not stain the lips. Once applied I find that the product is reasonably hydrating, but does unfortunately only last around 2 hours - you will definitely need to reapply after eating! Saying that in other reviews I've read, people seem to be getting a longer wear time than me, so you may be one of the lucky ones!

Coquette - This is a reasonably light, yellow toned pink. The intensity is not too bright though, making it great for everyday wear. This shades does contain a small amount of very fine silver microglitter.

Provocateur - I had to go with a red as well! I'd say the tone of it is fairly neutral, perhaps leaning a little on the warm side. It's also quite bright! This one has no shimmer/glitter in it.

The Good - Pigmented, 10 shades available, slightly hydrating, practical packaging, also matte versions available, smooth and comfortable formula.
The Not so Good - Only last 2 hours on me (others seem to get a longer wear), shimmer in the ones containing glitter is left behind on the lips after the colour has gone.
Would I Repuchase? I'm not going to run out and buy more, but if I saw a colour I really liked I would probably buy it!
Price & Availability - £7.99, Boots & Superdrug.
There does seem to be an awful lot of hype around these Lacquer Balms and I have to say, I do like them! A balm like and comfortable texture, with pretty colours and good pigmentation is always going to win points for me! Have you tried any of these yet?
