craft room tour {before & after}

Ready for a long, but worth-every-image post? Hope so. Last week, I alluded to the fact that we were organizing/updating my craft space, and Monday I posted a giveaway to clear out my fabric stash. After a long weekend, and several late nights, I’m so happy to say it’s done! And this post has the nitty gritty for you, but, first, some lovely before pictures…

Go ahead. You know you want to pin ‘em.

And now, here are the after shots…

The room is fairly small (around 10′x12′), so every piece we put in there had to really pull it’s weight. The bookcases are from the Expedit series at Ikea, as is the long tabletop and legs. Heard rumors that the Expedit series will soon be no more? Don’t fear-Ikea is making minor changes to the beloved series (rounded corners, slightly less bulky), and giving it a new name, but not much will be different design-wise.

The rail/hanging tins are from the Fintorp series, and I love how they add pretty and practical wall storage. I may add another in the future! The craft paper roll was a last-minute addition to our cart, but a brilliant one (if I may say so myself). So far, I’ve used it for stamping coasters and painting, and my 4 year-old has used it for art projects without fear of marking up any furniture.

The ladder and wood-topped desk were built by my talented husband.

The two prints on either side of the mirror were, as you probably noticed if you looked carefully at the pictures, were a last minute addition, and can be found here.

I’ll share the how-tos for the paper fan rosettes and how I recovered the desk chair next week!

Have any questions for me? Leave it in the comments and I’ll be sure to answer! Thanks for reading!!
