paper straw garland {a tutorial}

Happy Tuesday, friends! While in Target the other day, I happened upon the Poppytalk Beach Picnic Collection…have you guys seen it? Lots of colorful, coordinated, and just-plain-happy entertaining pieces designed by the popular blogger herself. I purchased a couple of packs of the beautifully-designed paper straws, and took them home to play with. What I ended up with was a cute and glittery garland that’s perfect for a party backdrop, a mantle or anywhere else in your home that could use a bit of sparkle!

Here’s the how-to!

Materials:
paper straws
glitter
Mod Podge
twine or string

Step 1: Take your straws, and, using a sharp pair of scissors, cut them into pieces roughly 1.5″. Using a foam brush, apply Mod Podge to one tip of each straw piece. Dip in glitter and lay on parchment paper to dry.

Step 2: Once dry, apply Mod Podge to the other end of each piece, dip in glitter, and lay on parchment paper to dry.

Step 3: Once all pieces are coated with glitter and dry, string onto some twine or thin ribbon.

And that’s it! Your colorful, sparkly and fun garland is ready to be hung and admired.

Thanks for reading!
