[ TRAVEL ] Nine Days in Paris - Part IV
Colorful store fronts along the Canal Saint Martin.
One of the neighborhoods I really liked on this trip was Canal Saint Martin. I've read a lot about how this neighborhood is up and coming (many comparing it to Williamsburg, Brooklyn) along the beautiful tree lined river. It much reminded me of Nakameguro, Tokyo with the resemblance of an urban canal with hip restaurants and design stores. Such a shame we were there too early for the season. I'm sure the whole place would look so much more lively and inviting with blooming trees and warm breeze.
As I walking into
Hotel du Nord for lunch, it became clear to me what it meant by 'very Brooklyn-ish'. Its deliberately dark and shabby chic atmosphere with laid back hip-ster crowd made me feel almost home and really enjoyed their splendid food and desert.
This tiny
Le Citizen hotel (only 12 rooms, all with the canal view) is such a charmer!
Ridiculously overdressed for pizza dinner at La Briciola
After dinner drinks at
little red door.
Scott and I loved this little speakeasy cocktail bar on Rue Charlot (a lot of fun spots on this stretch!) and went twice during our stay! They have a pretty masculine cocktail selection (most of them are whisky based) and tapas menu to satisfy your late night cravings!
Loved the view of the Eiffle Tower at Palais de Tokyo!
We dined at
Goust after reading great
review from Financial Times and it was a truly amazing experience!
Our last day in Paris - exploring Rue de Turbigo and Rue Saint-Denis.
Thank Isabel Marant for making this jacket reversible. By the end of trip I went through all my clothes (excessive layering to accommodate the unusually chilly weather didn't leave me with many options to begin with) and glad I was able to pull two looks from one jacket ;P
A different kind of artist.
I found Korean singer PSY on the cover at the airport lounge. Koreans go global, so proud!
Thank you for bearing with the long Paris photo diaries :D Hope you all enjoyed!
