Nail Art Sunday – Vintage Butterfly
For today’s nail art Sunday at Lelack I want to show you a manicure that I’ve had in mind for a couple of days. I wanted to do a butterfly going from one nail to another and I wanted to do it on a light, white-ish background. Looking through my stash I chose between two polishes: OPI – My Vampire is Buff and OPI – My Boyfriend Scales Walls. I ended up with the first option because of the warmer look of the color. For the background I wanted a vintage look and I considered newspaper print or the saran wrap method. I didn’t have the patience to wait for the background color to dry enough for the newspaper print so I used the saran wrap method For that I used the beautiful Essence – Get Arty. I wanted to paint a gold colored butterfly but because of too much going on in the background, the gold didn’t pop up well enough, so I went to the next color of choice, turquoise! Now you know how much I love turquoise so that wasn’t a difficult decision . The turquoise I’ve used is Ciaté Pepperminty, one of my favorite turquoises. For the outline of the butterfly I used Nordic Cap NP12. I’m so in love with the end result!
