FACE OF THE DAY | WINGED OUT BASICS | 2013 FAVORITES

Well, this is how I do my makeup practically EVERYDAY. The way I do my eyeliner varies though. Today I wanted to do the totally winged out liner look. Most of the time I just use Urban Decay’s 24/7 eyeliner pencil in Smoke (a dark gray) because it looks more subdued than a liquid or gel liner. Since it’s a Sunday today and we had gone out, I thought it would be nice to amp it up a bit. All the makeup I used here are my absolute favorites and are my daily staples.

How it looks like from the side:

I used a MAC 209SE eyeliner brush and Bobbi Brown Gel Liner in Black Ink. I started out by creating a line from the outer corner of my eye, from the bottom up.

How it looks like with eyes closed:

I made sure I was drawing a straight line from my lower lash line. I then drew another line from the tip of the previous line, towards my eye, to create a small triangle outline.

I filled the triangle in and drew a line from the outer corner of my eye to the inner corner. I then used Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on eyeliner pencil in Smoke to line my lower lash line. I finished it off by curling my lashes and swiping a couple of coats of my Holy Grail mascara, Max Factor False Lash Effect.

How it looks like from the front:

My makeup is never complete without the brows. I filled them in with Fran Brush-a-Brow in Taupe, a gift from the Arnaldo’s who used to make them, with a wet MAC 266SE Angled Liner Brush. Afterwards, I brushed on my favorite brow mascara, Dolly Wink in Cocoa 03, which was a gift from my friend, tutor, and fellow beauty addict, Tanya.

Aaaand how it looks like with a puppy :P:

To highlight my brows, I brushed on MAC eyeshadow in Ricepaper on my brow bone and in the inner corners of my eyes. This creates depth and makes it seem like I’m actually wearing eyeshadow because my eyelids look darker due to the contrast.

I haven’t been wearing foundation for months now because my skin’s gotten really sensitive. I just use Clinique Superbalanced Makeup in 61 Ivory as concealer underneath my eyes.

My blush, a rosy natural pink, is Smashbox Blush/Soft Lights Duo in Rising Star (you can find Smashbox blushes at Beauty Bar) and my lip color is Bobbi Brown’s Rich Color Gloss in Dusty Rose 4 which is an absolutely beautiful natural pink as well. I alternate it with my Shu Uemura x Aya Takano Cheek Tint when I don’t have a blush brush with me.

My 2013 favorites:

My shihpoo, Mokie, kept asking for my attention so I had to put her on my lap. Mokie and I say Bye! Hope you liked my makeup and/or Mokie’s top knot!
