Lip & Cheek Fun-tasy Tint | 6

Introducing my favorite brand for LIP & CHEEK TINTS — SHU UEMURA. While everybody else gets so excited about the MAC Holiday Collection, I always anticipate Shu Uemura’s more! Not that I don’t like MAC or their Holiday Collection, I do, but Shu Uemura’s collaboration with artists, particularly Japanese ones, are completely irresistible.

My absolute favorite lip & cheek tint, which I unfortunately lost recently (huhuhu), is — or was — their 2011 holiday collaboration with Aya Takano.

Last year’s collab was with Karl Lagerfeld. Naturally, it was extra hyped up. They didn’t have any lip and cheek tints though.

This year, Shu Uemura partnered up with Takashi Murakami and came up with 6 Heart Princess, Murakami’s upcoming animation film that’ll be aired as a TV series next year.

"6HP is built upon “Majokko (magical princess)” concept, a unique theme that constantly appears throughout the history of Japanese animation from "Sailor Moon" to "Pricure" series, where a girl transforms herself into her otherself in a parallel universe between real and surreal. the story of 6HP consists of 6 good princesses against 1 evil princess(black princess). for the collaboration with shuuemura, the pink princess, a representative of 6 princesses, and the black princess has been selected as two main characters." - shuuemura.com

The tints come in 5 colors — Dream Pink, Fuschia Fun-tasy, Heroin Rose, Princess Coral, and Magical Red. While I like wearing orange-y blushes from time to time, specially when I have a tan, I still tend to go for the natural rosy pinks. I wanted the lightest pink, the Dream Pink, but the Shang branch had run out.

My mom (oops, almost forgot to mention this is hers… though I’m pretty sure I’ll be sneaking into her drawer for this) got Fushia Fun-tasy instead. It was the last one! I’m not complaining though. I love the color! I think it kind of looks like a natural rosy shade you get from being out too long in cold weather. (Yeah, you get a different pink/red in the heat.)

Just make sure to shake the tube before squeezing the product out because just like paint, the first drop will be a little watery/oily if you don’t.

(Little sister wanted a cameo!)

What I absolutely love about this particular tint is how incredibly pigmented it is. It reminds me of paint tubes and, come to think of it, it actually does come in a squeeze tube — very hygienic packaging. Secondly, it’s more of a thick cream than a gel too, so the color is a little bit more opaque than their Aya Takano tint. Third reason is that it appears matte both on the cheeks and lips but still gives of this beautiful glow. Lastly, with this, a little goes a long long long long way. You only need as much as you see on my finger above for both cheeks AND lips! It’ll last you a long time, for sure.

Don’t pass this up! Stocks are limited! I only know of two Shu Uemura branches in Manila — Shangri-la (New mall) and Rockwell although I’m sure there are others. The lip cheek tints are for P1250. I would’ve wanted the palettes as well but….I’m always on a budget! Haha! Let me know what you think of it. Happy Holidays!

P.S. If you’ve noticed, although I doubt you would, I deviated just a tiny bit from my usual makeup look. I added a light shimmery peach shade on my bottom lash line — Urban Decay’s Snatch. I was “inspired” by Korean girls who do that to make their eyes seem bigger! Haha!
