Etienne Jaumet “Metallik Cages”

Etienne Jaumet is a true musician’s musician, an audacious synth-wrangler, space-explorer and film-soundtracker, the sort of guy who can release a whole album of John Carpenter covers and make it work (as his band Zombie Zombie did in 2010), or who can call on Carl Craig to master his solo work (as he did for 2009’s epic Night Music). His new album La Visite on Versatile is as shockingly accomplished as anything he’s done before, featuring his own extemporised lyrics and sax lines along with his cosmos-spanning electronics, and we’re happy to have this track from it.
