It seems that people at Kiko really decided to impress us this Spring! A month after their Boulevard Rock collection they released two LE "nail polish only". This one is the most innovative (info from
Kiko UK website):
KIKO MAKE UP MILANO presents Cupcake nail lacquer, the nail polish with embossed multicolour grains for full colour release, mat finish and a three-dimensional sand effect.
Ten shades for a fun and original look replicating the effect of cupcake decorations on your nails. The nail polish adheres perfectly and without streaking. Once dried, the grains can be felt to the touch, leaving nails enveloped in intense and playful colour. With Cupcake nail lacquer, your hands are adorned with a vibrant and tempting style.

I absolutely had to see them in person..I saw some early swatches on line (and this time some -too small- pics are available on Kiko website, too), but there's nothing like trying a new finish to understand if you like it or not. I started with first four shades and meh...
They are really coarse, compared to the Sugar Mat ones (that I love), the only one I liked here was Pesca (Peach), that looked a little less "minestrone soup" than the others.
A couple of days later I tried the remaining six shades. I still think they are not my cup of tea, even if Anice/Anise has a very pretty "melange" shade (I might make an exception for it, if I find it on sale).
Anyway this collection is quite peculiar, especially considering that Italian polish market is not that groundbreaking (later I found they are quite similar to the "
Roughles" from Nicole by OPI); if you like textured polishes (even if they have no sparkles), it's worth having a close look at those Cupcakes!
