Plates For The Wall

I have a collection of thrift store plates and platters that I want to hang on the wall, I've been looking for more but for some reason I haven't found any that I like lately. So to add to my collection I decoupaged a couple of dollar store plates and a really heavy plate that commemorated a culinary arts school gala.

I used a fabric that I've had for quite some time. It has a faded and antique feel to it and I thought it looked pretty with the platters and plates I want to hang.

These are the two clear dollar store plates. I just modge podged the fabric onto the back of the plates.

I laid the plate on the fabric and cut a square of fabric around the plate, glued the fabric to the plate and after the glue dried I cut away the excess fabric as close to the edge as possible, after that more modge podge was added to the back of the plate to seal it.

This plate was the heavy gala plate. It had black and white lettering on the front on a white background, (forgot the before pic oops) so I modge podged the fabric to the front of this one. It's the same technique as the clear plates except its on the front of the plate not the back. It was a quick project and very inexpensive, a win win in my book!
