Next SS14 at the Soho Hotel
The main problem with attending press days is that they are a season ahead. They were obviously set-up so magazines and the likes could prepare in advance for features. The thing is with bloggers, we like to attend events and press days and then to post up our snaps almost straight away. Before we are wearing the next season, we are talking about the season after that! I can imagine it is slightly boring and frustrating for readers as they can’t purchase anything they see and like any time in the near future.
That is why I like it when brands like Next set-up events specifically for bloggers focusing on the season we are about to go into to. I met up with my blogger pal favourites Steph from Faiiint & Tara from The Style Rawr before we made our way over the Soho Hotel for the Next SS14 event. We had all seen each other separately, but we hadn’t been in the same room for quite some time. I always have the best time with these chicks!
I just had to include the above photo, even though it is awful. I love Tara’s very delicate hand pose on my leg as I am sprawled across her!
The Terrace Room on the 5th Floor of the Soho hotel was decked out in Next’s Spring Summer collections. One rail was filled with pretty pastels, the next was full of bold prints and of course, including floral. There was nail art by www.biancasnailsecrets.co.uk recreating some of those prints. You can check out what print I picked on my instagram. I am all about the flat, comfy footwear at the moment so I had my eyes on the espadrilles (loving the white and navy pair).
We were also treated to afternoon tea and cocktails (probably explaining the direct photo above). My favourite thing of all was the Game of Throne inspired waterfall braids Blow LTD created in my hair. I cried myself to sleep knowing I couldn’t do it all by myself! Steph went for the same and Tara had the most beautiful braided crown.
Not too long to wait for Next SS14 as it hits the rails next month!
