Caramel Dumplings

Hello new friends at Sugar Bee Crafts! I am Lisa from Over the Big Moon and I love Christmas so I am really happy to be here! Today I want to share a delicious and simple recipe with you, Caramel Dumplings!

What I love most about this recipe (besides that it is delicious!) is that it takes very basic ingredients that most people always have on hand. Here is what you need:

1 1/4 c flour
1/3 c sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 c 1 Tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
2 Tbsp butter
1 1/2 c brown sugar

To make the dumplings first mix together:

1 1/4 c flour
1/3 c sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

Cut 2 Tbsp butter into the flour mixture until it becomes fine particles.

Combine :
1/3 c 1 Tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
Add that to the dry ingredients all at once and stir until the dough clings together.

In a dutch oven or large saucepan combine:
2 Tbsp butter
1 1/2 c brown sugar
1 1/2 c water
1/8 tsp salt

Bring to a boil stirring constantly, then reduce heat to low. Drop dough by tablespoons into the simmering sauce. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream.

And enjoy! The caramel sauce is delicious when drizzled over the ice cream!
