Hey dolls! Happy monday! I'm dressed up as a superhero, big surprise ;) So I'm giving you all a super secret preview of one of the killer editorials from the upcoming issue of CXIII. This one of course inspired by classic superheroes but revamped to convey high fashion. One of my biggest passions in the past year has been using movies as inspiration for editorials....anything from color schemes to actual characters...without looking cheesy of course. Anyways I give you sneakies as I gear up to publish the next issue of the magazine this friday, AND WHAT I really wanted to write about this week was digital publishing and it's almighty importance in the world of..well....writing...but also blogging. After being a blogger for a few years I found the entire platform very impermanent. You take pictures, you right about your outfit, you post some links...and it's there...and then it's on to the next one. It's new and fresh for a day and then in the blink of an eye it can get lost in the blog role black hole. So after months of debating tossing away the blog I ended up choosing to launch a digital magazine on a global scale...and yes it's as daunting to do as it sounds:) I longed to write pieces and create pictorial stories that were bound forever in a perfectly organized digital book that viewers could forever look at as more than a quick post....not just a scroll down series of links and images. So why am I spilling all of this info at you? Here's something to think about. 6.7 million people blog. As the rise of fashion bloggers keeps on increasing by the day, when is it going to come to a point where we are all just fashion bloggers? 6 years ago it was barely a trend to write about what you were wearing. Now it's the norm. What will make you stand out in a sea of posts explaining the delicate details of a lace shift dress or fringed boots? And more importantly what will be the content that lasts? What I want you all to think about is ways to really showcase your content in a new light. If you are taking the time to create stories and visual journeys with your clothing or images....Find ways to make them last. Whether it be creating actual interactive books, fashion stories, or even combining pieces of writing or poetry with your images, do it. According yo Forrester Research, 112.5 million US adults are expected to own a tablet in 2016, which is over 1/3 of US adults. I don't know about you, but my goal is to create something that you not only scroll by on an Ipad, but save and keep as inspiration for it's solid and thought provoking content.
ANYWAYSSSS that's all I shall say for today! Blogs are fun because of course you can rapid fire ideas like I just did and maybe they will help someone do great things! For now I leave you with batgirl ( which will be fully released on friday) and the new Maleficant trailer...which I am inspired by so greatly for some killer upcoming shoots :)
