HAPPY #BIRTHDAYWEEN...

Don't worry, this isn't going to be an article about how to put together that last-minute Margot Tenenbaum costume, or a tirade on how inappropriate "sexy" Halloween costumes have gotten. The rest of the internet—much like Olivia Pope—has it handled.
You may or may not know that I love Halloween. I love playing dress up, obviously, but I also love my birthday. I just turned 29 this week, and so (as per usual) I am combining both of these wonderful events into one illustrious annual event: #birthdayween. If you're here in New York, feel free to join me and my costumed cohorts at 169 Bar in Chinatown, but if not—I've compiled a nice little Friday roundup of the 3 best things
1. I still stand by the official playlist I created last year, but I've made a few tune ups for this season. I replaced "Work B*tch" with a little Ariana Grande, as well as a little Earth, Wind and Fire, plus one song I'm not sure how I ever left out, which is
this. There's a little Thriller, a little Miley, some MS MR and a little vintage Rihanna. (Remember "Disturbia?")

2. Here's the best sing-along movie clip related to this holiday, IMO. Which, as you should know, is from the best Halloween movie ever made. And by the way, Which Hocus Pocus character are you?

3. If the Halloween party you're at is a total flop, there's actually only one thing you can do to save it, so you better start practicing now. (And please note that 13 Going on 30 came out 10 years ago.) Also, if you haven't already, today is the day to re-watch
the original video. It's just as amazing now as it was when we were kids, I promise.

4. Lest you forget, this is the most important Halloween-related music video since Thriller. It harkens back to a more decadent, innocent time in the world of music, when videos were free of product placement, and Nick Carter was the hottest mummy we had ever seen.

Happy Halloween, be safe!
