2 of 101 things.

It’s been 67 days since I posted my new 101 in 1001 list (and I need to get it linked on my blog!), so I think a little update is in order, since I haven’t updated it since… um September 12th, the day after I posted it. and one of the things on the list is to blog about each completed item as it happens!

So here are the things I have crossed off or made progress on.

#9 .Corn Maze.

I actually went two weeks in a row. The first time I was totally prepared for it to be muddy. And it was pretty squishy.
But! BUT BUT BUT! The second week. I took the middle/high schoolers from church. And we essentially just walked straight through a giant mud puddle. It was nuts!

#16. 1/20 concerts – The BGP, Bad Rabbits & Allen Stone at the Wonder Ballroom in Portland, OR

In case you’re new around these parts, I have this friend named Allen who is FANTASTIC. I write about him sometimes. I met Allen a gazillion years ago through our mutual friend Brandon, who is also a musician. For a year or so of my life, Friday nights were spent at the Q Cafe in Ballard, WA. There was live music, and often times either Brandon or Allen were playing.. and if they weren’t playing, they’d at least be around checking out the music. It is such a precious, nostalgic time in my life. So when I found out that they would be sharing the stage again… in MY CITY… I called Brandon nearly in tears. Like, I had to pull over to the side of the road and my car was full of 5th graders who made fun of me a lot after that. But OH MY GOSH!

So my friend Mei-Ling, who is one of my most important friends in my life, came down for the show. Something you need to know about Mei-Ling and I. We love live music. That’s basically the thing we do together most often. And I swear to you…. the most obnoxious people in the room WILL FIND US and WILL STAND BY US and WILL ANNOY THE CRAP OUT OF US.

This time it was this super obnoxious couple. They were kind of in front of us at first, and then the guy kept moving backwards and I was against a barricade so I couldn’t move back… but he was eventually standing INCHES in front of me. Then the girl started doing the same thing and Mei-Ling and I were separated by them.

That’s how far away from each other we were! Ugggghhhhhh. But eventually we made our way back to each other and watched our friends KILL IT. I was so proud of them. It’s crazy to think how far they’ve come from that little stage in Ballard.

You guys.
It’s not even because I’m biased or anything.
But Allen Stone. He’s where it’s at.
And The BGP. One of my all-time favorite bands, especially live.

I still have more 101 updates to share, but I didn’t want to make this the never-ending post.

If you have a 101 list, please share it in the comments!
