COLDEST SUMMER EVER 101

via Urban Outfitters. Girl having a really hard time in the swimming pool.
As I am writing this post I am lying in the couch with a fan on my face watching the Swimming World Cup. The thermostat in our apartment just jumped to 30 degrees Celsius. All I can think about is how freaking cold it is. It seems like the weather men have been proven right: it is the coldest summer ever.
I try not to complain. All that sunshine, I'm not that fond of it but I alway try to make the best of the bad. Same for this case. The question that is lying on the tip of your tongue is of course "how to survive this coldest summer ever?"
Skin
Growing up, I'd lie out in my parent's back yard and try to get tan (it never worked) or use fake tanner (which made me look orange and glittery). But last year, I finally embraced pale skin, and it has been easier and obviously much safer.
For an everyday sunscreen, I use an SPF 30. It will ensure really good coverage while you're running some errands. An SPF 50 when I'm tanning, which I never do, because I am maniacal about staying out of the sun. Hat, sunblock, sunglasses and a parasol? Check. Okay, ready to leave the house.
Nails
Thanks to a little summery color, I am able to handle, more or less, the sight of someone else's feet, and my own. My favorite nail polishes are OPI and Essie. They are so easy to apply: super fluid with super pretty colors.

Activities
All I ask for during summer is staying in underneath the blankets and reading a book. Now summer is pushing us leaving our cozy homes, doing the reading/ drinking/ playing/ eating/ laughing outside. Pff. Try to make the best of it by wearing matching outfits.
Sandals
Although I prefer to wear my UGGS during summer, I feel obliged to switch them for sandals and espadrilles these days. Trading comfort for even more comfort, nope, not a fan.
Coconut Water
Mmm, coconut water. Super-hydrating! Potassium-rich! All natural!
No coconut water available? Drink the old fashioned water. The amount you need to drink varies from day to day. Here you can calculate how much water you need.
White Dresses
Lightweight, cool and loose enough to catch the breeze, the perfect coldest summer dress should be in linen or cotton. And white, like snow.
