F/W 2013: NYFW Dispatch #4

Ray–or blue on blue–outside the Highland show. David Hockney on my mind, I guess.

Yesterday was long.

It was the day of flagging courage. It was the day of snow piled up everywhere, water running in the streets, leaking boots, wet socks, poor clothing choices in general, cell phone charger mishaps, and an unwise decision to indulge in large quantities of sugar.

Musician David MacNutt outside the Highland show.

You know the phrase “intrepid reporter” Yes? Well, that would have described someone else yesterday.

Camille outside the Highland show. More blue indeed. I honestly wasn’t thinking about it, but I’m sure it means something. You tell me.

But sometimes you just have to suck it up and move on. You may be daunted, but you force yourself to act another way until you feel that other way. With that in mind, I took myself downtown to shoot outside the Alexander Wang show.

The entire day was worth it just to get this shot of late afternoon winter light.
Every show is really two shows: The one inside and the one outside.
I remember seeing this photographer at the shows in the fall–her look is always so interesting to me.

Skipping the sugar today. Will let you know how that goes.
