overheard: preschool edition

while at times stressful, i love my job. one of the best parts? hearing the hilarious things they have to say.

after a particularly trying moment with one child, i addressed the others, "wow, that got a little crazy...sorry i was stressed out guys." one of my boys says, "that's okay ms. hayley, you're an adult. it's your job to be stressed. i still love you."

while cleaning up a project with two of my girls that had lots of glitter: k: "wow! that's a lot of glitter!" me: "i know, it gets really messy, but it's fun." k: "i wish i could roll around in it until i'm covered all over." c: "i wish i was made out of glitter!"

i covered a table with paper and put out collage materials: me: "woohoo, party on!" m: "no. party off...i'm tired."

listening in on two of my girls sitting outside: s: "my mother is driving me CRAZY! i wanted fruit loops and she said no." e: "oh yeah, my mom made me wear socks with my shoes today but i didn't want to." s: "CRAZY!"
oh, and yes, they are three years old.
