The maternity checklist. To me it was less of a ‘checklist’ and more of a ‘novel’.
I remember packing my bags for hospital, and when I say ‘bags’ I mean ‘plural of bag’ because I had… what? Two? Three of them? Plus a pillow, plus a car seat, plus a birthing ball. I don’t think I have ever been so prepared in my life for anything than I was for the births of my two children.
But I ended up with so many things that I just didn’t use, it was really quite ridiculous. I mean, who takes their hair straighteners to hospital with them? Ditto fancy foot cream. I seemed to forget that I would be giving birth to a baby, not spending a weekend at a spa hotel. I spent days before the event scouring Boots for every single thing I thought I might need but barely used any of it.
That’s why I’m really excited to share this Mum-to-Be Checklist from Matalan: what I’d consider to be one of the most comprehensive and complete maternity checklists out there. Plus it’s really pretty, which definitely helps when you’re feeling excited about the imminent arrival of your neewborn bundle! .
