Sing for your Supper

The other night, Dustin and I along with two of our friends spent the evening at the Ryman. It was a rare event for the Ryman, it was actually a filming for a cooking show set to air in the fall called "Sing for your Supper with Chef Bob Waggoner". The set was placed right on the stage, so it was pretty fun to be able to sit on that side of the auditorium...only the best of the best artists get to sing on that stage, so it felt pretty special.

The night was really fun. Basically the show is hosted by Chef Bob Waggoner, a local chef, who teaches you how to cook two different recipes. As he cooks, a guest musician, in the evening's case, Brandon Heath, is asked to sing in exchange for the meal. It smelled sooo good, I was wishing I was the musician. Brandon sounded awesome. Apparently Amy Grant was the guest musician earlier in the day. Boy would I have loved to hear her sing too! She'd probably not enjoy hearing this but, her music takes me back to my childhood! Such sweet memories of singing and dancing to Amy Grant with my cousins for our entire family. I am sure thats not such a sweet memory for all of my cousins, but hey, I was young enough that I could be passed off as cute! As for the older ones...well...lets just say we have blackmail should they ever decide to do something that requires such action. I kid.

I should also add that Dustin and I were happy to learn as we approached the concession register with our humble single-to-share candy bar, that all of the candy, soda and popcorn were 100% complimentary. No need to say another word, almost in unison we snagged an extra couple of candy bars, glasses of wine, water bottles, and maybe even a bag of chips. I later found out my husband re-visited the counter. As you can tell, we can't resist 'FREE'...or candy! ♥, mK
