Autumn Weather Workout Gear to Grab

adidas Boyfriend Tee | adidas Chevron Bra | adidas Cropped Sweatshirt | adidas Tights (also available here!) | adidas Boost Sneakers | adidas No-Show Socks | Foster Grant Aviators | Jawbone Up Band

Back at it with another pair of crazy cool adidas performer tights! (Two of my other favorite pairs here & here!) This time, it’s leopard print. While the thought of leopard print workout pants is a bit daunting, I am in love with these. The monochromatic gray/black pattern makes them totally wearable!

I’ll be talking about this more in the coming days, but I basically won’t be in New York for the month of October. I have so many exciting trips ahead, but it’s definitely bittersweet. October is my absolute favorite month of the year (well maybe tied with August, my birthday month), and it’s especially wonderful in New York. I’m so scared that the fall weather will be gone and the chill will have set in by the time I’m back in November. In an effort to maximize my time spent outdoors this season (and for the rest of the year, really), I’ve been spending almost every second outside.

I’ve been waking up a little bit earlier to make sure I have time to walk to the gym in the mornings, instead of snoozing and opting for a cab. When I have the time, I’ve been getting off the subway a few stops early on my way home to enjoy a longer walk through my neighborhood. (And yes, I’ve been killing it with my Jawbone Up tracker.) And instead of doing extra stretching (something I definitely don’t do enough of!) on my living room floor after a workout, I’ve been taking advantage of having a school across the street from my apartment and utilizing their sport courts on the weekends! While a nice grassy park would be nice, they don’t call this city the concrete jungle without reason.

I talked briefly about the art of layering a few weeks ago, but now that these wishy-washy temperatures are officially upon us, it might be time for a refresher. Early fall is basically body temperature roulette which makes getting dressed, no matter if it is for work or for a workout, pretty challenging. Getting dressed for work in the morning has been a struggle lately and I’m sure you can relate. It’s so chilly in the shade, but if you wear something thick and/or long-sleeved, you’ll be having a heat stroke while you’re waiting for the subway. And then your office is freezing cold, but if you dress for warmth at work, you’ll essentially pass out on the way to or from. It’s a lose-lose situation unless you’re layering! Same goes for your workout wear.

To me, there really are a few key pieces that will have you covered for the fluctuating fall temps.

1. A sweatshirt. (Duh.) Absolutely loving this boxy cropped boyfriend sweatshirt because it’s super comfortable and let’s a little bit of my top show. Plus, the dot detailing makes it even better.

2. A very versatile tee. My love for the adidas Boyfriend Tee hasn’t gone anywhere! It’s perfect year round.

3. A cute sports bra. Like I mentioned a few weeks ago, if you’re at the time and place where your workout tee is coming off, a cute sports bra is a must-have.

And while they’re not layering related, my other two favorite items for autumn are a pair of performer tights and a pair of adidas Boost sneakers. Honestly, if you buy one workout-related item this fall, make it a pair of Boost sneakers. You will not regret it! Trust.
