infatuated with a nightstand: totally possible. It happened.

Well slap me silly & knock me over with a feather y'all!!!! This gal got selected to be a part of this years Creating with the Stars!!! Someone buy this girl a lotto ticket, am I right?! I am so incredibly pumped to compete each week against the best of the best, but the idea of being grouped in with these lovely contestants makes me want to throw back a margarita or two ten. I wish everyone the best of luck and I hope all of you will help me by voting each week!

And even though I am currently jacked up on a CWTS high, I have officially recovered from Project green room, and I can give you a little inside scoop on the nightstand (which surprisingly a lot of you emailed and commented about).

This nightstand was a story of an inexpensive Goodwill find, gone uptown. With the addition of a new piece of plywood added to the back, a coat of paint in Behr's Mythic Forrest and a little customization, the ole' gal was as good as new and acts as the perfect hideaway to stash all of the little man's favorite bedtime reads.

I removed the doors, knocked out a few shelves, and primed the entire piece before putting three coats of paint and a clear coat of protective paint on the outside. I customized the back panel of wood with a kitchen dishtowel purchased from Anthropologie. I am a smitten with wiener dogs, it was fun, it was so crazy it actually just worked. The whimsical pattern not only made it fun for a kids room but added a punch of personality in a tiny space.

A little rub-n-buff was used to create the look of gold tipped legs and this piece of furniture that was once an ugly duckling surely became a swan. It is actually one of my favorite practical parts of the room.

I am now off to try and get some sleep and dream up some crazy project idea for the first round of competition. Give me some extra virtual atta' girls, a few you go girl's, and a whole lotta amens!! I'll see you lovelies later this week with details on the little man's bedding and some resources. *And if you're new to the blog...welcome!!! So glad you could join in the fun.
