ABOUT THE WINDLIGHT USED FOR THIS POST

I’m adding a link below to download the windlight that I’ve used for the photos in this post. The wind light was originally set up for a dark and foggy scene as you see in the image above (the one on the right). If you’d like to highlight your avatar I’d suggest rezzing

Steps to install the windlight

1. Download the windlight file and quit the Second Life Viewer.
2. Copy the downloaded windlight file (file is in .xml format).
3. Open the Skies folder within your viewer directory (Windows C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife\user_settings\windlight\skies and Mac ~/Library/Application Support/SecondLife/user_settings/windlight/skies).
4. Paste the file into the Skies folder.

To use the windlight

1. Login to Second Life.
2. Go to Menu > Preferences.
3. Click the Graphics tab.
4. Set Quality and speed to High or Ultra.
5. Click OK.
6. Go to World menu > Environment Editor > Sky Presets > Edit Sky Preset.
7. Next to Sky Presets, click the Name dropdown and select {miaa} the blair witch project. The sky changes instantly.

Click Quick Preferences and select {miaa} the blair witch project from the WL Sky dropdown.

Steps to change the fog/surrounding color

When using this windlight you can easily change the mood of the scene by changing the sun & moon color. Here’s how you do this:

• Go to World menu > Environment Editor > Sky Presets > Edit Sky Preset.
• Select {miaa} the blair witch project from the WL Sky dropdown.

• Click S/M Colr to open the Color Picker window.
• Select a color of your choice.
• The fog/surrounding color changes accordingly.
