Fancy seeing Hawaii by bike? Then think about taking a spin with Pedal Hawaii and its bike rentals and tours of Honolulu and the North Shore.

Portland, Oregon-based company Pedal Bike Tours has opened Pedal Hawaii in Waikiki which offers bike rentals by the hour, day and week and tours designed for novice riders.

On the ground level of Queen Kapiolani Hotel in Waikiki, Pedal Hawaii is situated near Diamond Head, the beach, car-free bike paths and miles of bike lanes.

“We’re an ideal jumping off point for visitors who want to pedal around the city, or for those who are going car-free, but still want to explore the island,” says Todd Roll, founder of Pedal Bike Tours. “Exploring the city by bike is a fun, easy and safe way to experience local sites and culture.”

So far, Pedal Hawaii features two family-friendly tours on Oahu: Hidden Honolulu and Explore The North Shore. Local experts guide the tours which take guests off-the-beaten track for an insider’s perspective of the island. Each tours is available both in English and Japanese.

On the Hidden Honolulu tour, riders go on a 3-hour downtown tour of the city sites including Ala Moana Beach Path; Royal Iolani Palace; Chinatown; “Point Panic” Surf Spot; Mission Houses & Oahu’s 1st Church and Murals of Urban Kaka’ako.

While the Explore The North Shore features a full-day “local-style” island adventure on the North Shore with a tropical bike ride and beach time and include The Pali Overlook; Koolau Mountains; Sunset Beach’s Jungle Bike Path; Waimea Bay; Turtle Beach and Haleiwa Surf Town.
