After Sun Skin Care Recipe for DIY Sun + Skin Soother Cream

This natural after sun skin care recipe is one of the first natural lavender scented cream products that I created when I started selling on my local farmer’s market many years ago. As it’s been so long since it’s conception – we’re talking a decade now - I thought it was time to bring it back around and share it again.

This Natural Sun Skin Soother Cream Recipe is made from organic healing oils, shea butter, lavender essential oil and aloe. It’s perfect for replenishing those stubborn spots of dry skin or for soothing and speeding up the healing process after a sunburn. To use, simply apply to skin after extended sun exposure or to sunburns or anytime your skin needs a lift of moisture.

Ingredients:

1 Cup Raw/Natural Shea Butter
1/2 teaspoon Lavender Essential Oil
1/4 teaspoon Tea Tree Oil
2 teaspoons Organic Aloe Vera Gel
1 teaspoon Vitamin E Oil
2 teaspoons of Mountain Rose Herbs Restorative Skin Oil

Instructions:

Melt the shea butter in a double boiler on the stove, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat then measure out and stir in the remaining ingredients. Allow to solidify then mix again with a fork to ensure the aloe is fully incorporated within the cream. Spoon into two 4 oz. jars. Ingredients for this recipe were specifically purchased from Mountain Rose Herbs.
