Jeg har en mening om alt. Eller det er i hvert fald, hvad jeg ofte hører. Egentlig plejer jeg også at sige, at jeg fortæller, hvad jeg mener, også selvom jeg ikke bliver spurgt! Sidste år fik jeg lidt af den kritiske røst ud i min klumme i Berlingske, men det er slut. Så jeg tænker, at jeg må ud med lidt luft et andet sted. Det bliver her. Om torsdagen! Måske ikke hver torsdag, men når jeg har noget på hjertet! Som nu omkring massehysteriet omkring jubilæumsvasen fra Kähler.

Kähler’s Omaggio vase trak nemlig i den grad overskrifter i sidste uge. Tidligere på sommeren annoncerede Kähler en jubilæumsvase med messingstriber i forbindelse med deres 175 års fødselsdag. En limited edition vase. Altså en vase der med lidt held kunne erhverves ved at forudbestille den hos en lang række udvalgte webshops og butikker landet over. Det var dog gået mange menneskers næse forbi, og de brugte således en hel dag på Imerco’s hjemmeside i sidste uge og måtte i de sene aftentimer fortsat kigge ned i en tom indkøbskurv. Og vreden, for folk blev virkelig vrede, gik udover Imerco på deres Facebookside, hvor rigtig mange lukkede op for sluserne.

Ærligt, Omaggio-vasen har aldrig været min favorit. Jeg er vild med meget andet fra Kählers univers, men Omaggio er for mig lidt kedelig. Og messingstriberne gør det ikke bedre. Jeg kan sagtens sætte mig ind i, at man gerne vil have noget ikke alle andre har. Jeg har selv siddet i kø til limited edition sneakers. Og også forgæves. Men det betyder jo ikke, at jeg tillader mig at svine personalet til på det groveste. De kan jo altså ikke gøre for, at jeg stod bagerst i køen.

Hvorfor er det, at vi altid alle vil have det samme? Bevares. Mange ville gerne have Kähler-jubilæumsvasen, netop fordi den er limited og dermed ikke en, alle har. Men den er stadig lavet i flere tusinde eksemplarer. Så helt unik er den jo ikke.

Hvad så nu. Jo, vasen sælges til over 1.000 DKK på dba.dk, og Kähler har annonceret en miniudgave af vasen med messingstriber. Er det klogt, tænker jeg? Er vi ikke snart derude, hvor det ender med, at Omaggio-successen vender til det modsatte? Der er kogt så meget suppe på den vase eller rettere de striber. Et massivt antal farver, vaser i mange størrelser og former, krus, plakater osv osv. En sandt stribehelvede!

Jeg glæder mig altid over Kählers designnyheder og havde ikke i min vildeste fantasi forudset massehysteriet omkring jubilæumsvasen. Det tror jeg egentlig heller ikke Kähler selv havde. Men den massive mediedækning er jo guld værd for dem. Jeg har imidlertid sat min vase på loftet. For mig symboliserer den ikke noget specielt positivt. Den kan allerhøjst trække et smil med tanker på kvinder landet over, der sikkert har bandet og svovlet over ikke at få vasen hjem!

I still have an urge to get rid of some of my many opinions, and where better than here. On Thursdays! Maybe not every Thursday, but when I have something to say! By now to what this is all about. You might have to live in Denmark to know, but people went mad, like really mad, about the anniversary vase from Kähler.

Kähler’s Omaggio vase pulled many headlines last week. Earlier this summer Kähler announced their anniversary vase with brass bands for their 175th birthday. A limited edition vase. So a vase you had to acquired by pre-ordering it from a variety of selected online shops and stores across the country. However, something many people hadn’t seen, and they ended up spending an entire day on Imerco’s website and even in the late evening hours they still had to look into an empty shopping cart. And the anger, because people were really angry, went straight on to Imerco’s Facebook page, where many opened up the floodgates.

Honestly, the Omaggio vase has never been my favourite. I love a lot from Kählers universe, but Omaggio is a little dull in my opinion. And the brass stripes don’t really make it any better. I can easily see myself wanting something not everyone else has. I have been queuing for limited edition sneakers, also in vein. But that does not mean that I allow myself to go absolutely mental on the staff. It is really not their that I was standing at the back of the queue.

Why is it that we always want the same thing? All right. I guess many would like to have the Kähler anniversary vase, precisely because it is limited and is not one that everyone has. But it is still made ​​in several thousand copies. So really not that unique.

Now what. Well, the vase is sold for over than DKK 1,000 on the black market and Kähler has announced a mini version of the vase with brass stripes. But is it wise? Aren’t we at that place where the Omaggio-success might turn into the contrary? I mean we have seen the vase a massive number of colours, sizes and shapes and the stripes is now also on Kähler mugs, posters, etc. A true stripe hell if you ask me!

I always look forward to Kählers design news, however, I honestly had not in my wildest dreams anticipated the mass hysteria surrounding the anniversary vase. I bet Kähler hadn’t either. But the massive media coverage is golden for them. However, I have put my vase in the attic. For me it symbolizes nothing particularly positive. It can, at most, draw a smile with thoughts of women across the country, whom at some point last week got really upset, as they didn’t get the vase!
