DIY Makeup Brush Cleaner

I don’t know about you, but but I hate cleaning my makeup brushes. My makeup brushes are very well used & I hate taking the time out of my day to clean them. Call my lazy, but it’s just one of those chores that I knowI have to do, but it’s never number one on my list. So what did I do? I made a DIY that would make my life easier & my makeup brushes cleaner. Here is some DIY makeup brush cleaner spray that will help keep my brushes fresh & clean during the in- between time before deep cleanings & since I loved it so much I wanted to share it with you guys as well!

DIY makeup brush cleaner spray:

-Witch hazel – I used two different kinds one from Target & one from Thayers. Thayers brand has always been my favorite witch hazel and I use it as a face toner every day so I knew it would be great in my DIY makeup brush cleaner. I mixed it in with the regular witch hazel just so I wouldn’t waste my favorite witch hazel all on this makeup brush cleaner. I filled my spray bottle with the combination of the two & left some room for the next ingredient.

- Baby mild castile soap – I purchased mine at Target & I added a few drops to the rest of the witch hazel mixture in the spray bottle & mixed the two together. I used the mild baby soap because my skin can be sensitive & I knew it wouldn’t cause my skin to breakout. You can also use a different kind of soap as well, but be sure to pick one that works well for your skin.

After you mix the witch hazel & your sensitive soap in your spray bottle, mix together & spray your brushes with them. Rub the brushes with a paper towel or a cloth until they are clean. The brushes, mine are from Target, should dry really quickly unlike when you wash them with soap and water. Be sure to still wash your brushes periodically with soap and water in between using this spray to ensure your brushes get deep cleaned.

Seriously this stuff has saved me so much time & I notice that when I clean my makeup brushes more often my skin breaks out less. You can create so many variations for this recipe & I would love to hear what you make or if you have a DIY makeup brush cleaner spray!
