We are on day three of the LMB rental bathroom makeover & day three is the day that we try to hide that ugly shower door. Ok, so most homes have these sliding shower doors, & some probably work great, but ours was in pretty bad shape & quite frankly it was an eye sore. I needed a temporary fix since this is a rental & of course I wanted it to be affordable since we didn’t want to invest any money into our rental when we only have a month left here. So I came up with something super easy & quick!
This was so simple it was unreal. The idea was to hang a shower curtain high enough to cover the entire shower & touch the floor. This part was hard because a normal shower curtain was smaller than what I needed. My solution? A set of two curtain panels from Marshalls that were 96″ long & a tension curtain rod that was long enough for this space. I hung the shower curtain rod at the top of this open space which is almost 96″ tall after I looped the two curtain panels on the rod. Of course since it’s two panels there is a little overlap in the middle, but I think it looks way better than the “before”!
Oh, & we added some added storage with a wire basket above the toilet. I mean we will probably find more uses for it than toilet paper, but for now it works. This shower curtain is such a great temporary fix & Oh my it added a pop of interest to this space that’s for sure. I love how it takes the attention away from all the wall tiles & I also love that it’s something I would usually never pick. Mr. LMB loved these curtains & by golly when that man has an opinion I love listening to it because I love when our house feels like OUR house. What do you guys think about our shower curtain covering the glass shower door? Is this a normal thing? Do people usually do it? Or am I a big weird for not wanting to look at those doors.
