Israeli Amy and American Amy

Hello there my lovely readers. I realize it has been awhile since I've written but I honestly wasn't sure what to write. My blog has become so Israel-centric (because I made it that way) that being in America seemed like irrelevant subject matter. Just as in any blossoming love, Israel became my everything. I was literally eating, breathing, living Israel.

The past few months I've crossed that new-love-phase threshold. Israel and I are past our honeymoon stage and I've been able to take a step back to reconnect with the American half of Amy. It is a part of myself that I love very dearly. I am excited to say that the Israeli half of Amy agrees, American Amy is great. In fact, Israeli Amy and American Amy have decided to cross the ultimate threshold and become one.

I'm making Aliyah!

For those unfamiliar, Aliyah is a Hebrew term meaning literally to ascend, and is the name for formal immigration to Israel. I'm officially going to be an Israeli!!!

That being said, I think it is time to diversify the subject matter of my blog a bit. Of course it will still be very Israel-centric; my life is going to be very Israel-centric. There will still be plenty of passionate musings about what's going on in Israel and beautiful photographs of my Israeli explorations. But now there might also be a few pop-culture collages, a playlist of my "Top 20" right now, a rant of how badly I want a puppy of my own, etc. After all, I'm still a 23 year old girl who has spent 22.5 years of her life in America (the other .5 was spent in Israel, obviously).

So here is my formal announcement, and I suppose your fair warning. I'm both very excited and nervous about the news and am so happy to have you all to share it with!
