Ancient Secrets of Color

Ancient Secrets of Color
London-based designer and color enthusiast Laura Daza explores the origins of pigment and the emotive meaning of different hues. Colour Provenance extracts an understanding of how each pigment was historically sourced, collected and mixed – uncovering the ancient secrets of colour. Here we see white shell, blue azurite, ash black, aqua malachite, raw ochre and vivid saffron. We love Daza’s finished display of extracted pigments incased in sculptural colour-coordinated vessels. The designer finishes off her exploration with a wash of each colour in varying saturation depths on individual colour cards.
