Bobbi Brown Nectar & Nude FOTD

I could wear this palette everyday. Funny I should say that, because for the last week and a half I have been doing exactly that.

Now let's be honest. This does not look exciting. There are no wacky colours or crazy textures. It's your bog standard, run-of-the-mill neutral collection.

I have a few of these sets knocking around and I both love and use them all. It's okay you can call me a hoarder - I have come to terms with that.

But there is something different with this one - and that difference is down to my usage. I have never been one to use every colour in a set - there are normally a few that I sneer and turn my nose up at but when it comes to Nectar and Nude I have been dipping into every single shade.

The black is the liner and outer corner colour, the white is the "below the brow" colour and anything else is up for grabs. Even the metallics get used - and I typically hate the BB metallics - dabbed in the inner corner every now and then.

I think this is probably why sets like the Urban Decay "Basics" go down so well the makeup market - standard colours that you can use any day of the week.

Now you could also find yourself thinking that the lipgloss you see in the above picture is a bit boring. It's just so... "standard". Even the name is dull - "Nude Pink" (groundbreaking, eh?) - but my God, this is such a great nude because it can actually be classified as pretty. It just creates a soft, glossy look with no effort!

This collection hit the UAE in June - and probably the rest of the world a couple of months earlier than that but if it's still knocking around I would check it out and don't forget to try on Nude Pink because fortunately that looks like it might be permanent!

Now onto the face!

Face: Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation and Chanel Les Beiges powder in 30. I haven't used this for a while (the powder) and rate it as just "okay". Laura Mercier Mineral Powder is the only one that really keeps up with this weather.
Eyeshadow: Smashbox primer and a hodge podge of shadows from this palette with a focus on the two sitting on the far right of the palette and the two on the far left. PS. I really like using black shadow as liner lately...
Mascara: MUFE Smokey Lash
Eyebrows: MAC Lingering
Cheeks: By Terry Cellularose Blush Glace in Flower Sorbet over TheBalm "Frat Boy"...I LOVE this combination.
Lips: Bobbi Brown Nude Pink - my lips but glossier.

I did a little more makeup shopping today and got two YSL Kiss & Blush and Illamasqua Hollow - things I have wanted for a while. I cannot wait to play! :)

See you tomorrow!
