So pom pom trimming. That’s my new thing.
It started last week. I went to see my friend Nikki’s new clothing line and the majority of her tops, shorts and playsuits come bedecked with pom pom trimming. That was it. I was captivated. Literally. I bought
this pair, a playsuit and the pair I am wearing today:
How big does my hair look? It's apparently taking over my head.
And now I cannot stop. No really. Consider this a revolution of sorts!
I like the fact that it adds that "something". It’s the kind of detail that is made for summer days and everything I have acquired to date will be making it into my suitcase for my August holiday. Oh god, I cannot wait for that time!
Anyway, here are my picks!
1. Urban Outfitters kaftan –
Link! – this is the most expensive pick but I like the idea of getting a kaftan for beach situations. I think this is also pretty enough to wear out in the evening.
2. New Look top –
Link! – A cheap number from New Look, here the detail is very subtle across the top edge but it’s there. I also like the flow on this one.
3. Missguided top –
Link! – I am 100% going to buy this. It will be great to wear with shorts/jeans. It’s just a good basic with a twist.
4. ASOS shorts –
Link! – Elephant print? Sure! As long as pom poms are involved.
5. Topshop top –
Link! – This looks like a good basic in a versatile olive colour. My only concern here is what would happen with the boobage situation within this style but let’s not worry about that now.
6. Boohoo shorts –
Link! – Possibly my first ever boohoo purchase? I have never ordered anything from that site because the quality scares me but I’m going to take a risk here. This is especially the case because I think these may reveal a little more arse than I would like. At the very least they will make excellent jim-jam bottoms J
7. Boohoo kimono –
Link! – I like the idea of this but I wonder if it will translate as a nylon sheet. Maybe I can order it and if horrific can add it to the items for a forthcoming “When online orders go bad” post J
So that’s where I am with pom poms. Oh and if you like Nikki’s stuff then s
end her a message on Instagram – here’s her profile page. All fabrics are sourced/made in Bali. The floral pattern is my personal favourite!
See you guys tomorrow!
