The LWD + The Alexander Wangs

American Apparel Ponte Sleeveless Skater Dress Alexander Wang Glacier Aline Low Sandals

SO MUCH to say in this post.

As I hope to be bringing the red black wardrobe combo to a close soon (its still most certainly not done yet), another newly noticed staple in my closet is the LWD, or Little White Dress. Since May, I’ve picked up like 5 of them, starting with this one here. Something about a crisp white dress is so alluring to me, and the thing is, this happened pretty suddenly. I wouldn’t say I’ve given up the classic LBD, (or in my case, my 20-30 LBDs) but I’m happy to bring something I’d consider a little out of my ordinary to the blog. Regurgitating the same content over and over is boring, but at the same time I want to be true to my style. With this, I think I’ve found a way to freshen up the blog while still being true to myself.

I’m also in this weird state of, “Do I really own Alexander Wang shoes?” A year ago, I told myself that my next pair of shoes would be Wangs, except it took me about 8 or 9 pairs of shoes since then to get here. Don’t get me wrong, these were super marked down, and I’m not going to pretend that they were not, but it still feels good! I saw these on Shoescribe maybe a month or so ago and I thought they’d be gone by the time I’d save up for them, but to my surprise, they were still floating around! Weirdly, Shoescribe’s sale shoes have all gone missing so the only way I’ve been able to find them for you all is through my order history, which says there are still some pairs available. I’m so happy with these because I wanted some crisp white sandals and these have come to the rescue. You may know their trendy older sister which I’ll gladly steer clear of just because I’m so tired of seeing them (though the extra heel height would’ve been nice). These are a nice alternative that still meet Wang’s superb aesthetic and give but a nod to their calf-strapped counterpart.

Lastly, I just want to point out how much I love these photos that I took. I quickly snapped these before work last week, in front of work (one of my supervisors walked by as I was taking them! Haha). White is extremely hard to shoot as it gets washed out and glow-y, especially when the sun is high. I literally wrapped up shooting at noon–not ideal for photography at all. I realized I needed to shoot several photos with different white balances but at the same time so that I can make a composite of the three images. This is called Auto Exposure Bracketing. I’ve been saying for ages that I want to post some tutorials on here, so maybe I’ll do one explaining AEB. Would you all be interested?
