Hair Tutorial: How I Curl My Hair

First of all, Merry Christmas! I hope everyone is having a great holiday. I’m really loving my new curling iron and I’ve had a chance to play around with it, so I decided to show you how I curl my hair.

What I used:

Clockwise from top left: Silk Elements Glossing Polish, Tangle Tamer Max, Tresemme 24 Hour Body Finishing Spray , Garnier Fructis Style Curl Shaping Spray Gel (optional), Headbands from Old Navy, Bows from Etsy . 2nd Picture: Clips and a Curling Iron (I used the Conair Double Ceramic Conical).

Step1: Brush your hair out with the brush of your choice. (This may be obvious, but I thought I’d mention it.)

Step2: Apply a dime sized amount of glossing polish to your palm and run it though your hair. (You can also use a heat protectant spray as an alternative.)

Step3: Gather your hair at the top and back of your head in 2 or 3 seperate layers with clips leaving the bottom of your hair down.

step4: Wrap your hair around the curling iron, because mine is a “cone” shape, I wrap it closer to the top to create tighter curls.

step5: Spray your hair with hairspray. (For those who have thick hair like me, use lots.

Step6: Let down the first layer of your hair and curl it like you did above.

Step7: Repeat step 6 with last layer and spray with hairspray.

Step8: For my bangs I curl from the underside so it curls in instead of flipping out which looks weird.

Step9: Spray spray gel throughout your hair and scrunch it to add more volume and better hold. (No Pic)

And your done! You have beautiful, wild curls. If you don’t want it as wild, you can pull it into an updo or use one of the following looks…

Hope my tutorial helped! Have fun curling!
