I Love Button's By Emma

Crochet Christmas Wreath

I am very excited to be able to sit and write this Blog post. Both my kiddo's are asleep and I have been taking photo's like a mad woman. The light in this new house is tricky and I'm trying to find the best place's to take photo's. Some are photo's are OK, some are pretty average, but hey I'm excited for Christmas and things are going up. I have just finished my first crochet wreath, it's been a to do item for years and now it's done. Inspiration came from the lovely Attic 24 with her wreath here.
I covered my wreath like hers, the only change was I used my crocheting hook to thread the ends in and worked around tucking the loose ends as I went along. This was much easier than using a bodkin, and it looks great too. (sorry no photo of that)
I crocheted sweets and treats for my wreath, with a couple of flowers and pom poms thrown in too. I made up most of the treats, I love the Fab iced lolly, it became favourite of mine whilst in the UK. The ice cream was from issue 29 of Mollie Makes, and I only made one scoop.
I found some cute little baubles in Typo and used them for a bit of sparkle.
I made the little pom poms on a fork. It's the best idea ever and so quick and easy.
I didn't want to cover the whole wreath as I love the stripes around it.
I think the hardest part was figuring out which colour to make the bow. I pinned them all on as I thought if I wanted to change it a bit for next year I can. I am so happy with it and I went out and even bought a packet of licorice allsorts after crocheting so many of them, I forgot how much I love them. Stay tuned as this isn't the only wreath I have made, if you follow me on Instagram you would have already seen it. Olive is nearly 5 months. I haven't started solids yet, she is still my little baby, I cant believe I can start feeding her. We are now looking forward to a Christmas as a family of 4, and there has been alot of chat about Santa, mainly from Ruby.
