Counting down

I decided to make an advent calender this year for Ruby. She is 3 now and is learning her numbers and looking forward to Christmas. I thought it would be the perfect time to make one, and to use up some of my growing stash.

I had fun with my trims, felt and lots of colourful fabric. I didn't make them Christmas colour's, I just made them fun.

I embroidered the numbers on lots of coloured felt circles.

I put a mixture of little plastic animals, chocolate coins and lolly pops. She enjoys the little treats and we talk about what colour the different numbers are and how many fingers represent each number.

All hung up, they are under the air conditioner, as opposed to the fireplace for those who have a cold Christmas. I love that I started and finished this in about 3 days, must be a new record for me at the moment. I look forward to opening one each morning with Ruby, then maybe next year with Olive.
