Testing out the new Nike Pro Bra

I’d been on a long string of 4AM shifts, and although I had all the best plans and intentions in the world for exercise and activities after those shifts, the reality is I was way too tired to do anything afterwards, so I’d just go home and sleep instead. I got sick of doing this, but decided my will-power alone wasn’t enough, so I got in touch with my PT friend to set up a couple of work out sessions a week for a month, just to get me back into the swing of things. I figured it would do two things : guarantee me at least two days of exercise a week, and make sure I’d go to sleep on time the night before. Working out one on one with a trainer is actually one of the funnest ways I’ve experienced working out, and while I won’t be able to afford it for very long, it’s definitely a great way to get back into a routine and get some ideas for your own work-outs.

The invitation to test out the new Nike Pro Bra came just a couple of weeks after I’d started back at the gym, and it was another perfect pick me up to remember why I enjoyed working out. It’s often hard to walk through the door of the gym, or out the door for a run, and I can dream up plenty of other things I’d rather be doing, but once I’m there and I’ve worked out, I remember that it’s actually something I like to do. I always choose my work-out gears the night before, and my favourite part is picking out my sports-bra. Even though no one sees it while I’m working out, I think maybe because I’m such a fan of lingerie, I still like the idea of having a pretty, or cool bra to work out in. I’d have one in every colour if I could, but if you have a crap bra on that doesn’t fit you right, you’ll be distracted and annoyed the whole time. Anyway, last week I met up with a bunch of babes at Shed 10 on Queens Wharf to test the new Nike Pro Bras out, I was wearing the ‘Nike Pro Fierce’ – there’s a pic of me in it here – it has moulding in the cups, dri-fit material, and a breathable mesh racer back. We did a 15 minute NTC workout, laughed the entire way through learning a dance routine and ended with some yoga, which I found myself to be pretty shit at – but unlike me, the bra was all good.

The new Nike Pro Bras are all about extra support, and finding the right fit. To be honest, I’m not someone who needs any kind of support in her bra – there ain’t much there to support, but I can say a big ‘AMEN’ to the need for a bra that fits you right. My fave of the new styles is the Pro Rival bra, which comes in 25 different sizes, not just your usual S, M, L – so I’m sure all the fuller chested ladies will be pretty stoked on that. You can go here to check out and read about all the other styles.
