Random January musings …

It’s now January 27th and I’ve blogged exactly twice this month. I would be worried except a couple of things: a) this happens every January and b) I know y’all aren’t worried, so why bother making myself stressed out over it? I don’t say that to be depressing, I just know that in the grand scheme of things, me not getting up a bunch of new posts isn’t at the top of anyone’s priority list – and I’m cool with that.

That being said, I’ve got shit to say … I even have a nice list going on my phone. Things are happening, I get ideas, I make lists … it’s just that well, I just haven’t made the posts happen yet. Soon, my friends. Soon. Until then, here is some stuff that’s going on right now:

We’ve decided to sign the Mouse up for Spring t-ball, which to most people is not a big deal, but for me? Well – this means giving up my Saturdays (for the most part) and adding one more thing to my weekday evenings to increase my stress level. But, he’s super excited and I think it’ll be a good thing for him to have an extra curricular activity. Bonus points that it only last 2.5 months …

The Froggy got moved up to the three year old room at daycare. The THREE YEAR OLD ROOM, y’all. I guess being potty trained 100% means an automatic upgrade to the big leagues. I can’t believe my baby is going to turn 3 in about a month. Yikes. In other news? I’m planning a super chill Jake and the Neverland’s family-only birthday party … which means it’ll end up being 30 people and probably 15 Pinterest projects. ::sigh::

Speaking of projects, my travel calendar (both for work and personal) is filling up fast yo. Deep, deep breaths. I can’t believe January is almost over and I’m going to have to start thinking about all the projects and trips that are looming.

The Mouse has had pretty horrible headaches for the past couple of days, and was diagnosed today with ‘cluster headaches’. He hasn’t had a bunch of them, but they were so uncommon for him and he was so upset/miserable that I took him. We’re starting treatments as simple as lots of sleep, lots of water, lots of good food, and then a dose of Tylenol before school – we’ll see how it all works out. I hate to see him in such horrible pain.

Oh, and since it’s the end of January, we (obviously) hit up the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo this weekend. It was 74* when we went yesterday. And 33* today. Texas is weird, y’all.
