Pretty pastel Hepworth dress
I feel very privileged when designers ask me to test their patterns. They work so many hours and is such a big responsibility to make sure there isn't any mistake, even though most of the time the patterns are already perfect and we just enjoy a lovely sewing day in secret. That is the only part I struggle... I love
instagraming my WIP.
Without further do, here is my
Hepworth dress, the newest pattern from
Sinbad & Sailor.
The Hepworth dress it's a beautiful sleeveless dress with very body forgiving princess seam, flared skirt, centre back zip and handy hip pockets.
My version was made buttery soft viscose bought during my last trip to Brasil.
I really love wearing florals during spring and move to brighter prints for summer. This will be perfect pool party outfit on my upcoming trip home.
Let's talk about what alterations: I didn't change anything and sewn a straight size 10UK (except on the neckline: size 8Uk). Because of that, the pattern hits my high waist instead of my normal waist and has a shorter overall length. I only omitted the pockets because of the fluidity of the fabric.
I had stabilised my invisible zipper, as I do with every project made out of viscose or any other soft fabric.
Trying to take pictures on a windy and overcast day was a challenge.
Wouldn't be me without my signature pose, surely?
Currently loving the broken doll.
The waist is a bit snug, however as I been guilty of overfitting in the past and I know the fit ratio is different with draper fabrics , and that one shouldn't try to make everything tight fitting. I'm happy with the overall look.
I really love the pattern instructions and how clever Hannah's technique to have a clean finishing on the facings.
Welcome to the blogsphere
Hepworth, cannot wait to see everyones version of it.
