Being in my 30's and having two kids, I'm definitely not as comfortable showing my midriff as I used to be. It's not even about body image. It's about what seems appropriate for my age and occasion. High-waisted pants that show skin above my belly button aren't an issue. Low-slung hipsters on the other hand, are a completely different story. The reason I felt comfortable in this All-Saints top, is mainly because of the crocheted fringe hanging down. It doesn't over-expose my stomach, which I like. To add more comfort, I paired it with this velvet blazer which made me feel 100% appropriate picking up my kids and running errands. Also notice nothing is too fitted. Wearing these non body-hugging flares makes the look appear easy and not over done. Typically I stick with high-waisted pants when it comes to crops. But when you love a piece, you make it work.
