Take your time. Let the words form in your head, let them crystallize into clarity before you decide to let it slip from your tongue. I appreciate the effort you make, just so that what you'd say seems careful, like you wanted to make sure my heart went unbruised. Even though I should have let you known that it's not that easy to hurt me that way. You could have said anything and you wouldn't have been able to make me sad.

Take your time. There's no rush to completely figure out how my face feels on your skin, so let your fingers graze for as long as they want. Leave your smell on me so I could think about you when you're gone, I'll smile a little when I recognize your scent on the fabric, on my neck. Trace me in the gentle way you know how, with your head cocked to one side as you linger a little longer along the outline of my lips. You slowly pry them apart with your thumb, which you move to my chin to tilt it up so my mouth meets yours.
