Royally Yours

Royal blue jacket: c/o LookBookStore (link here) Fit and flare striped dress: Forever 21 Bottle necklace: Diva Bag: Prada (my first designer bag, yay!)
As promised, I have momentarily stepped away from my florals and pastels to embrace this gloomy day, with blacks and strong primary colours. I've been investing in some thick coats and jackets for winter, and I made a big haul from Forever New (pretty much my favourite Aussie store ever) and I hope to show you guys my purchases in a blog post soon!
For now, Lookbookstore has kindly gifted me this lovely royal blue addition to my winter wardrobe! It kind of fits and feels more like a trench coat, and is great for infusing a striking pop of colour and life into a cool, dark day. I paired it with one of my favourite wardrobe staples- the classic striped dress!
And sorry for the samey-same outfit post backgrounds in the past week! I've been strapped on time and opportunity to take outfit posts outside of my home, so I've taken these at the front of my house. Usually I do it in my makeshift 'studio' (really just an extra room in my house) against a white wall, but I'm trying to utilise the natural outdoors light and greenery, to make them more interesting.
In the past for my outdoors shoots I get my boyfriend to take the pictures, which is a lot easier and the photos turn out very nicely. But I love the idea of doing everything that you want to do all by yourself, and not having to rely on anyone else. It can be such a pain setting up the tripod and self-timer, and running back and forth to check the photos, and all those other niggly little time-consuming things all you one-person-team fashion bloggers are well aware of! But at the end of the day, there is always a great sense of self-achievement and satisfaction in doing something completely independently! :)
