Hello, my loves! I have a new episode of Wildly Inspired up over here, but I'm going to cross post the video here so you can enjoy it even if you're not participating in the free class! If you want supplies lists and a place to show your work/view the work your tribemates post, then you'll definitely want to join us in the classroom. (Remember - free fabulous = FRABEEEEE!!! Woot!)

WILDLY INSPIRED - EPISODE ELEVEN - WILDLY HAPPY

I went in wanting two things: ease, and flowers. Ease, for me, means loose and free. While I don't often use watercolor in my work, I'm starting to really get how easy it is, so I started there.

Creating this spread is a matter of layering wisely. Start with the loose, free floral shapes and then build the spread up from there. If you're nervous about smearing, you can apply a workable fixative, but I didn't have any trouble with smearing once the watercolor layer was dry.

There is no talking through the first half of the video since what I'm doing is fairly self-explanatory. Please refer to the supplies list and note that they are listed in order of appearance in the spread. That should help you figure things out.

Use what you have. Have fun.

Bloom True is starting soon, so I wanted to nudge you in that direction - especially if you are terrified of tackling canvas. I know as a journal artist, canvas felt like uncharted territory. It was this huge expanse of omgDOOM for the longest time. Once I took Bloom True, I got over it. Yes, it took time, and yes, I made a lot of really awful gunky huge messes, but as I kept practicing, I found myself getting braver and braver, and the art I made became more and more visually appealing AND soulful.

If you've been thinking of taking it, I'd be pickled tink if you used my affiliate link. When you buy Bloom True through my link, I get a wee commission which helps me keeps free things happening my my tribe. Thank you in advance!!

And, a final note:

The tribe that's growing up around the new volume of Book Of Days is rocking my poptarts. Want in? Use coupon code alumlove and you can have the entire 12 week experience for $40.

See you tomorrow!! xo
