My Perfect Pair: Over-the-Knee Boots
I’ve been wanting an over-the-knee boot ever since I first laid eyes on those unbelievable Stuart Weitzman 5050 boots. You’re probably in the same boat, aren’t you? (Before we move on, you should know there’s a few pairs of OTK Weitzman’s on sale — here and here.)
Though I can argue the case for investing in a good pair of boots any damn day, I haven’t purchased the 5050’s because they’re a bit out of my price range. And, you know, a girl’s gotta eat. First, rent. Then, shoes.
Nonetheless, I hadn’t stopped dreaming about adding this specific shoe to my closet — until Jeffrey.
Jeffrey Campbell, that is.
I bought these over-the-knee ‘Basie’ booties about a month ago. They were the last pair and size in stock, to which I attributed an act of fate. Obviously, right?
It was one of those see-them-and-buy-on-the-spot purchases. No hesitation. I haven’t regretted it.
I’ve been seeing all these dating app advertisements around New York for “the one” and “the perfect pair,” and I’m all like — Yep, done. FINALLY! I’ve got mine.
I realize I’m comparing men to shoes, but, you know… We’re on the same page. Unless you’ve already got your man, in which case, GET THE SHOES!
Anyway, in case you’re wondering: The zipper detailing at the base makes them very easy to slip on (and off — but why would you?) and the stretchy, thigh-high leather shell will keep you very cozy this fall and come winter.
I held off on posting this outfit to see if they’d come back in stock — and thankfully for you, they did. In every single size! For now, at least.

The tricky part? Figuring how to wear this boot trend.
Now, I love Julia Roberts, but let’s stay away from looking like Pretty Woman. Keep it covered up top — opt for a chic sweater dress or longer-in-length tunic that hits right at the thigh (below that fingertip) and allows a bit of breathing room between your over-the-knee boots and hemline.
Get ready to break some necks, girlfriend.
